Tanner Holmes Wins 2019 Winter Showdown

Jacksonville, Oregon- Teenager Tanner Holmes picked up a huge win on Sunday, January 27th, at River Arena Speedway to emerge victorious at the 2019 Winter Challenge. The race attracted some top tier talent including some of the best Cage Kart drivers in the Pacific Northwest to the Roseburg, Oregon facility.

The weekend began on Saturday, January 26th, with lots of preliminary action. In his first heat race Tanner started third and improved to finish second while in the second heat he went from fourth to third. It qualified him into the A Feature and start the forty-lap affair in seventh place.

Despite starting in the fourth row Holmes wasted no time getting towards the front. Capitalizing on two cars battling for the lead he made a skillfully calculated pass to get past both to take over the coveted top spot. It was there that the #18T remained for the rest of the distance to pick up the winner’s trophy.

“The car was super-fast over the entire weekend” commented Holmes, “the track slicked off really good and it was just how I like it. It’s great to finally get this win off the list because I’ve been trying to win this deal for a few years.”

The team will concentrate on competing in Northern California, with the Red Bluff Outlaws, for the rest of the winter before they get set for Sprint Car action in the early March. The “tentative” opening date for the Sprint Car program is March 1st and 2nd at Chico, California’s Silver Dollar Speedway for the annual Silver Cup.
