Jacksonville, Oregon- Southern Oregon teenager Tanner Holmes made a big splash in the Pacific Northwest Sprint Car scene. In his debut season he managed to post fourteen top fives and eighteen top tens in only twenty-six starts. Among those top fives were three sensational, and consecutive, main events victories in September.
“I was blown away with how well things turned out in my first year at this level,” said Tanner Holmes, “Next year we are going to try and step it up even more.”
Spending primarily his tenure in the Limited Sprint ranks he managed to finish second in the Interstate Sprint Car Series Speedweek standings. Although he made five 360 Sprint starts he did manage to participate in the Western Sprint Tour sanctioned Speedweek Northwest. Tanner managed to finish among the top ten twice.
“First of all I have to thank all of my family, sponsors, and great fans that support me. I also want to give a shout out to Roger Henderson and Zak Arata.”
In 2019, Tanner Holmes and company will focus a lot more on the 360 program on the West Coast. They intend to hit the road with the Summer Thunder Sprint Car Series for the full schedule as well as making several shows in California. In addition, Holmes will spend his off season in his Open Kage Kart with the Red Bluff Outlaws, Northern California, and Roseburg, Oregon’s River Arena Speedway.
